What to see in Granada: cathedral, islets and landscapes
Granada's historic centre and cathedral are urban highlights, while the nearby islets, Mombacho Volcano Nature Reserve and Apoyo Lagoon offer contrasting lake and mountain landscapes. They are not all in the same walkable area.
Main places to see
Spend time around the cathedral and colonial streets, then choose a boat outing towards the islets if available. Mombacho requires a separate reserve visit, while viewpoints and shore establishments around Apoyo Lagoon have different approaches.
How to get around
Check the exact boat departure point for the islets, the authorised entrance to Mombacho and whether your Apoyo destination is a viewpoint or a lakeside property. Arrange transfers independently when needed.
Before you travel
Verify reserve restrictions, boat conditions and current fees. Avoid assigning the same opening hours or transport time to all the attractions near Granada.
