Rivas city and the port town of San Jorge are different stops in southern Nicaragua. The area links the mainland with ferries to Ometepe and offers onward road connections to San Juan del Sur and the Pacific coast.
What to see
Visit Rivas city and then see the Lake Nicaragua waterfront in San Jorge if your journey allows it. The routes towards the Pacific beaches are another excursion, not part of the ferry terminal.
Things to do
Spend time in Rivas before moving to the San Jorge waterfront if you have a ferry connection. The port is an important transfer point rather than an attraction that replaces a visit to Ometepe itself.

Getting there and around
Confirm the actual departure port, ferry company, boarding deadline and rules for vehicles or luggage. Arrange the road transfer between Rivas city and San Jorge separately and allow enough time for delays.
