Altagracia, Ometepe: organise the island's eastern sights
The Altagracia area brings together several of Ometepe's nature and lakeside attractions. Grouping nearby stops can reduce unnecessary crossings of the island and leave more room for changes in weather or trail access.
What you can experience
Consider Ojo de Agua, Charco Verde and Playa Santo Domingo as distinct experiences rather than identical swimming locations. The San Ramón Waterfall and areas around Maderas require different levels of planning, particularly for walking routes.
How to plan access
Decide which attraction you want to visit first and organise transport between stops before travelling. Accommodation and eating options appear in the Ometepe catalogue, but access to each business or attraction must be checked separately.
Before you go
Confirm current entrance rules, trail status and operating conditions. Avoid a packed route that assumes fixed road times and immediate ferries, especially when combining a walk with activities beside the lake.
