Ojo de Agua on Ometepe: volcanic spring and relaxation
Ojo de Agua is a tree-shaded bathing destination in the Altagracia sector of Ometepe, known for water of volcanic origin. It is a place to slow down rather than a substitute for climbing one of the island's volcanoes.
What you can experience
Plan time to enjoy the spring and its natural surroundings. If you have enough time, it can be paired with Playa Santo Domingo or other attractions on this side of the island, but travel between locations still needs organising.
How to plan access
Confirm the route, current entrance conditions and your return transport in advance, especially if you do not have a vehicle. Do not assume that a driver will be available for an unplanned pickup.
Before you go
Check present-day hours and any admission charge directly. Allow plenty of time before a ferry departure, and follow on-site instructions about bathing and use of facilities.
